Following the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam in April this year, India had named its military operation ‘Operation Sindoor’ which targeted terrorists based in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

India defeated Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup as its won the ninth title of the tournament.

India bowled out Pakistan for 146 and then chased down the target of 147 with two balls remaining.

Meanwhile, celebrations erupted across the country as elated fans took to the streets to dance, burst crackers and distribute sweets.

Several fans also carried tricolour amid chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

Even ICC chairman Jay Shah in a post on X said, “A proud moment for Indian cricket as Team India showcases excellence, consistency, and character on the biggest stage. Kudos to the players and support staff for a stellar campaign.”

During the title clash, Indian pace head Jasprit Bumrah pulled out an "airplane crash" celebration after dismissing Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf, who had come under fire for his provocative gestures during the Super Four stage clash between the arch rivals.

Rauf was Bumrah's first victim and overall ninth in the match. After castling his stump, Bumrah used his hand to gesture a plane crashing, which was in a way a direct response to what Rauf did during the Super Four clash not so long ago.
